Asia is getting little respite from an already brutal storm season.

Forecasters are warning the next tempest is now en route to the Philippines.
The news comes as three nations count their dead from the previous typhoon, with the toll reaching nearly 400.

Officials are preparing compulsory evacuation plans for tens of thousands of people in the Philippines as they watch Typhoon Parma track toward the country with winds gusting up to 130 mph.

Parma could be more powerful than Ketsana, which left the Philippines' capital awash Saturday and then cut a destructive path across Vietnam and Cambodia. Officials in all three countries have again raised their death tolls, for a total of 383.

Meanwhile, the Asia-Pacific region is struggling to recover from two major earthquakes and a tsunami that killed hundreds.
