Three Currently Emerging Global Influences

In the 1990's our World changed, as the Cold war ended, and our societies slowly evolved into a Global economy. Through these changes, we are seeing three emerging issues that are affecting the way we live, study, think and work today-Challenges that are shaping our very own attitudes towards the future.

What are these Three Global Issues that are emerging today?

1. Global Warming

No one is sure how Global warming will truly affect us, but some societies are already planning ahead. The Netherlands for example expects part of the Country to be permanently reclaimed by the sea, so already floating homes, roads and communities are already being developed. The effects of Global warming are being felt everywhere, but how are we going to adjust to them?.

2. Poverty

Our Economies are changing, as a natural consequence of Globalization, technology and over population-This creates poverty as our populations grow, and opportunities change.

Currently around 25% of the Worlds population lives on less than a dollar a day, when food prices are rising, and land is being lost due to global warming. Accepting poverty is one thing, but how do we deal with the consequences if it reaches our own backyards?.

3. Reduced Natural Resources

Currently newly emerging Industrialized countries are competing with the USA, and Europe for natural resources. This is creating an emerging need to create greener energies, to offset a future shortage of resources. As populations grow, so does the need to use more resources.

2009 was the year of change, and as the emerging issues of land loss, want, and less resources becomes more prominent. We may need to plan towards creating a solution for ourselves, our families and our communities to overcome these three very real challenges to our future lifestyles.
